About the Speakers

Jason Belland, Higher Education Executive in Residence, Attain Partners

Jason Belland serves as Higher Education Executive in Residence at Attain Partners, committed to serving the industry with a focus on envisioning outcome-driven solutions that care for the student journey over a lifetime of learning. Jason has spent over two decades working at public and private higher education institutions in roles ranging from online learning and instructional design to marketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), bringing together innovative ideas with new technologies to support student success.

In addition to his roles in higher education, Jason served an eight-year tenure at Salesforce, ascending to Vice President of Go-To-Market for Education Cloud, leading teams to create solutions that would empower colleges and universities to engage, retain, and support every learner over the course of a lifetime of learning. The products and solutions created under Jason’s tenure at Salesforce have been implemented by thousands of colleges and universities globally and set the foundation for today’s Salesforce Education Cloud. Jason received his bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and holds an Executive Education Certificate in Business Excellence from Columbia Business School.

Germán Freiwald, Industry Solutions & Strategy Senior Director, Education, Salesforce

Germán Freiwald has over 18 years of experience in the education and technology sectors. He believes that education is society’s most powerful lever for helping everyone reach their full potential. After four years of nonprofit program management working directly in schools, Germán was drawn to technology for its ability to help educators and education leaders scale their impact. Within enterprise software, he has served in various roles, including Product Strategy, Product Management, Product Marketing, and Business Development. At Salesforce, Germán currently serves as the Senior Director of Global Education Industry Solutions & Strategy for Education. In this role, Germán is the global go-to-market strategy for Education Cloud’s gen AI, Student Success, and Student Information System efforts. Additionally, Germán serves as the education industry lead for our LATAM and APAC regions.

Alan Ng, Director of Information Technology in the Division of Continuing Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Alan Ng is a veteran of continuing education, having worked in roles from classroom and online instructor to IT leader, including stints in instructional design, digital marketing, and business process improvement along the way. As an IT leader, he builds partnerships, coalitions, and teams that lead to meaningful success across the enterprise and beyond. The lifelong learner stays at the center of his decision-making, always advocating for a better learner experience and for the learner’s progress towards their own real-world goals.
