Education Summit Highlight: Salesforce’s Acquisition of Slack Drives Digital Engagement
Salesforce.org just finished up their Higher Education Summit for 2022, and there’s a lot of new stuff coming down the road for schools of all shapes and sizes—from Tableau Accelerators to new form builders, new data import tools, and even new AI-driven bots for Financial Aid.
Salesforce continues to be the best platform to engage students, especially digitally. With Salesforce’s acquisition of Slack last year, this digital engagement lead has only increased.
Slack, the world’s leading workplace collaboration tool, is going to be embedded and deeply integrated with Salesforce. Students will be able to have shared conversations with teachers, advisors, and student services, creating a network of support for each student.
Additionally, Slack integration with Salesforce means you can kick-off workflow from Salesforce to Slack, or vice-versa. Student alerts can be configured in Salesforce and sent to students via Slack, meeting them in the same environment where they chat with their teachers, advisors, and friends. And students will be able to request information from Slack and have it automatically sent from Salesforce. The options for automation and streamlining student interactions are limitless.
As Slack will be embedded directly in the Salesforce platform, Salesforce users will have a complete picture of all the school’s interactions with a student, whether through Slack messages, email, phone calls, or in-person meetings.
