Karl Otto serves as the Advancement Executive in Residence at Attain Partners, on a mission to make things work so fundraisers can be in front of donors. He brings years of experience leading data, technology, and operations strategy across higher education and healthcare fundraising.

Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Philanthropy Analytics and Business Intelligence at Providence Health System, where he built an analytics function supporting fundraising operations across Providence’s family of 40+ foundations. Previously, he served as the inaugural Chief Technology Officer for University Development and Alumni Relations at UC Berkeley, overseeing a large distributed technology and operations team through the launch of Berkeley’s $6 billion campaign.

Earlier in his career, he was Chief Operating Officer for the University of Oregon Foundation, Director of Development for Seattle Mens/Womens Choruses, and a Major Gift Officer at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His work consistently sits at the intersection of fundraising strategy and the systems that support it—CRM implementations, data warehouses, analytics platforms, and the organizational change required to make them succeed.

Karl holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems and Analytics from Colorado State University.
