Attain Capital Partners (“Attain Capital”) is a private equity firm investing in growth-stage companies in the knowledge economy. We seek to partner with firms delivering high-value technology-enabled solutions and services to government and education clients. Attain Capital is seeking current undergrad and MBA students for its summer 2025 MBA associate program. The summer associate will work closely with the investment team in all aspects of the investment process. This position is based in the McLean, VA area. Responsibilities
- Support members of the Attain Capital deal teams, primarily, but not exclusively through financial analysis
- Conduct company-specific and/or industry-specific research, including strategic and financial topics
- Support all aspects of the due diligence process in evaluating new and existing investments (financial, business analytics, commercial/market, legal, risk, regulatory, IT, and HR among others)
- Develop and prepare complex financial models
- Participate in the preparation of investment memoranda, presentations, and all other materials required in the investment, fundraising, and fund management process
- Support the ongoing monitoring / management of portfolio companies
- Complete additional projects, as requested
Desired Skills and Experience
- Required: Current full-time MBA student
- Two to three years of prior work experience in private equity, investment banking, or strategy consulting desired
- Undergraduate degree from a leading institution with a strong track record of academic achievement
- Detail-oriented with strong financial analysis and modeling skills
- Knowledge of accounting concepts
- Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and deal CRM systems
- Excellent reading and written communication skills
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills,
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to multitask in an unstructured, small team environment
- Intellectual curiosity about investing, private equity, and business
