Place of Performance
Work shall be performed in a hybrid setting each week, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm EST, as follows:
- Two (2) days remote at a suitable off-site location
- Three (3) days on site in Annapolis, MD
We are seeking a Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator to join our team to manage and optimize our state and local government client’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. The resource will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
Job Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
- Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
- Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
- Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
- Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.
- Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.
- Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
- Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or postgraduate degree, in engineering, computer science, or related field (degrees in Economics or Masters in Business Administration are pre-determined as not related).
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE). The certification must be in valid (current) status.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in a complex networked system environment with strong networking.
- Administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
- Red Hat performance tuning
- Load balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Experience working in an environment that requires 24/7 system availability.
- Electronic Imaging Support.
- Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below:
- Oracle WebLogic Servers
- Oracle Database Servers
- Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge
- Apache Web Servers
- vSphere hosted RHEL Servers
- Rubrik backup systems
- Oracle Database backups
- PeopleSoft
- Mobius
- Elastic Search
- Oracle OBI
- CVS (Concurrent Version System)
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
- Ability to troubleshoot at the Operating System (OS), database, and application levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
- 10+ years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
- 15+ years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.

Attain Partners is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Individual base salary for this position is unique to each candidate and will be commensurate with experience, education, and skills, ranging between $125,000 - $145,000. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
